Pastor Ramon Ulangca has a missionary’s heart. Born to Filipino missionary parents in Singapore, and spending most of his adolescent years in Thailand resulted in many friendships with Buddhists and Hindus which explains his passion for reaching non-Christians with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
The gospel reflects a symbiotic relationship between music and theology in Ramon’s ministry. Having master’s level academic degrees in both disciplines enriches his calling with an appreciation for artistic excellence and intellectual rigor that finds its fullest expression in his preaching, discipline and worship.
This rich, gospel dynamic has taken him from humble beginnings in Asia to minister in various places in North America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Consequently, Ramon’s vision for the church centers on a community of faith that pursues Jesus’ commission to make disciples of all nations. However, diversity in itself is not the goal but rather an understanding of the gospel that transforms people and overcomes social, racial and cultural barriers to achieve true oneness in Christ according to Jesus’ prayer for His disciples.
“Coming to Jesus, becoming like Jesus and overcoming in Jesus” is the slogan that guides his ministry of discipleship. Toward this end, he humbly seeks in all he does to point people to Christ who is the ultimate manifestation of God as Love.
Ramon’s partner in life and ministry is Rae Ann, an optometrist, and they have two sons, Randall and Richard who are pursuing doctoral degrees in physical therapy and medicine respectively. As a family, they are grateful to be at Glendale Seventh-day Adventist Church and look forward to the miracles God will pour out upon His people as together we walk by faith in obedience to His call in our lives.
